Special Events at the Rubin Museum

Corporate and Social Entertaining

Rubin Museum corporate supporters and individual members (Corporate Donor/Collectors Circle and above) are invited to use our beautiful facilities for special events. Depending on membership level, members are entitled to a range of benefits that include selective use of the Spiral Lobby, the Colonnade, and the Theater for private functions.

Non-profit organizations, colleges and universities who wish to hold events in the museum are also welcome.

Facility Capacities and Availability

With sophisticated architectural accents and in-house lighting and sound, the Museum is a stunning and elegant space for all types of private functions. We can accommodate intimate receptions as well as large-scale fetés for up to 500 guests and seated dinners for up to 220 guests.

The museum is available for special event use only after museum hours.  Ideal times to host an event at the museum are all day Tuesday or after 5:00 p.m. on Monday or Thursday; weekends are possible after 6:00 p.m.  Private use of the museum's state-of-the-art theater is subject to availability.  Please review our overview and guidelines for how private events are hosted at the Rubin Museum.

The Rubin Museum employs a full-time staff of dedicated and experienced event professionals to facilitate every type of event. In addition to our special event staff, we include security, housekeeping, and audio/visual support. Upon request and availability the museum can also provide artistic entertainment and programming, adding a regional flavor and experience for your guests.
