Asian Studies Circle

The Asian Studies Circle at the Rubin Museum of Art provides a unique opportunity for university faculty and researchers interested in Asian Studies and related topics to meet at the museum for informal discussion and private exhibition tours. Gallery talks are usually held once a semester for faculty and are designed to help educators develop curricular connections and utilize the museum as an extension of the classroom.
Upcoming Events
The next Asian Studies Circle Curricular Connections Meeting on December 12 will explore Radical Terrain, the third and last exhibition in the museum’s Modernist Art from India series. Radical Terrain examines the theme of landscape from multiple perspectives, as seen through the socio-political lens of Indian artists after independence from British rule, and by international artists who are reimagining what landscape means within the context of our contemporary world.
We will gather for a Meet & Greet in the Rubin’s Cafe Serai from 5:00-6:00 pm and visit Radical Terrain from 6:00-7:00 pm.
Asian Studies Circle programs are free of charge with reservations/RSVP. All faculty and researchers with an interest in Asian Studies and related topics are welcome.
